Finding a suitable room mate is very difficult. Finding an ideal one is probably impossible, but here are some of the characteristics that I would like my room mate to have.
The most important thing about roommates is for them to have similar sleeping habits. He should not be someone who stays awake until three o’clock in the morning surfing the net or chatting on ICQs. I like sleeping quite early, at about half past eleven and this behaviour would drive me crazy. Another important thing is personality. He should not be too talkative. If I want to study, and if I want to read a book, I do not want someone to try to talk to me all the time. Also, he must be tidy. I am a very tidy and very fussy person. I never like to see old dirty socks on the floor, or used tissues on the table. Finally, liking the same things is important. I like classical music and sport and I think that this helps my friendship with my roommate. We listen to the same music when we are studying and do not argue. I play basketball everyday and it is good to have a partner to play with when we are bored of studying or we need a break.
So, if you get up early, have a suitable personality and enjoy similar things, you might be the ideal room mate for me.
